The wind blew cold along the shore of the Isle of Draco as the recently unfamiliar face of Lucas Connors strode along through the sand. He had been gone for so long, in hiding nonetheless, no contact with the outside world. It had been miserable. But he had really honed his dragon skills, and so now he was more prepared than ever to fight when the time came.

Letting out a small sigh, Lucas kicked up a pile of sand. The sun was quickly fading over the horizon and the temperature seemed to be dropping quickly as well, but it wasn't bothering Lucas. He had just gotten through telling the council that he had returned from his time in hiding, and that he was ready to return to helping out the magical community as one of New York's dragons. He had been forced into hiding from a threat from the Dark Dragon, after that day he had faught against it with Jake and Dave. He didn't want to go into hiding, but the council had forced him because they didn't want to take any chances.

Now that he was back, he was roaring to get back into the groove of fighting, and would be ready when the first attack came. He continued walking very slowly along the shoreline, sifting his feet through the sand.
